Solution orientation is often heard, less practiced.

Masterful way to practice solutions orientation would mean ability to produce three possible solutions to any given situation and then give recommendation of choice of these three.

It sounds easier than it is, as situations in life come and go quick. Therefore it is a skill that falls into “lifetime to master” -category.

What I find interesting about solutions orientation is that the attitude of challenging status quo and courageously bringing something better into the present moment.

Therefore solutions orientated attitude is not only about communication, but also about creativity and ability to create social value for others.

Out of everything that happens to us during life, attitude is what defines our life experience in all situations. Consciously choosing a mental attitude is a sort of pre-empting to whatever happens to us and how do we take that.

Positive mental attitude primes the mind to seek the good, while negative the bad.

And that which we focus in life grows stronger.

In fact positive attitude to life becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

When was the last time you checked your attitude towards life?

Positive Mental Attitude book by Napoleon Hill is recommended reading for anyone who is interested digging deeper in to the topic. Here are my top five picks from the book:

  • Think of your friends often and never of your enemies
  • Find and stick to a one reason why you can succeed in this rather than have many reasons not to succeed.
  • Thought can be just as effective as action.
  • Do you want to feel? Be enthusiastic. Act enthusiastic!

Finding What’s Really Important

Past is past, we should accept that and move on.

Future has yet to come, we shouldn’t worry about it too much.

What we are left with is the present. Using the present moment in smart ways to do important things is the one key skill that we need in life. We need to have the capacity i.e. courage and social skills to have the difficult discussions for example.

Time flows. Experience is of the time is relative. We if we feel pleasure our focus is in that and the flow of time seems quicker. If we feel pain the experience of time slows down.

It’s our abilities to identify the critically important things, in smaller and smaller chunks and then do that which is most important and get that done that makes our time spent feel very meaningful.

In fact it doesn’t involve a lot of work, but a lot of prioritization skill. Also with prioritization it’s very easy to think that doing this or that. However, have you ever considered are these the actual tasks that need to be done? Skillful people learn to recognize and break down the tasks that actually need to be done, instead of just looking and retaining the status quo, they challenge it completely.

Often the tasks that are at hand can be broken down into further tasks that are actually important.

Imperfecting Life

The longer I’ve lived, the more I’ve realized how important it is to strive for imperfection. What is even more curious, as I strive for imperfection this can be misinterpreted easily by people who do not know me so well.

Yes, I am very interested in personal growth and learning. That doesn’t make me perfectionist, in the pursuit of something more and better. It makes me rather imperfectionist, trying to be a little more accepting of myself and others every day. It is through acceptance of imperfections that we can truly begin to make the journey anywhere. It is through imperfections that anything gets done!

In life there is no such thing as final version.

For what we need to do, we already have everything we need to get started. The result will never be final, yet we can do our best by doing our part in this project of life, then pass on the baton, light the fire of others and move on.

Living the life of imperfection is extremely satisfying.

Use Negative Swing to Create Positive Momentum

Power of perspectives is so powerful, you can literally turn anything upside down and build upon the momentum. This applies in good and in bad. Usually people would rather have more of the good and less of the bad.

It’s completely within our power to decide how each event will serve us: is it a lesson or a burden. Masters find the lesson in everything and everyone. It’s sure to be there, if you look deep enough.

Then use those lessons to create habits.

Use those habits to create combinations of habits that shape your days.

Use those days to make your dreams reality.

Resistance is a Growth Opportunity

Resistance might mean resistance to change. However, the more we feel resistance the more potential we have to grow. It does not have to be in a leap, although it could be.

It’s only through resistance and challenge that we can grow from. If there is no resistance present, then we are not in position to learn much either. Too much comfort stunts the growth.

Therefore when we notice resistance to do something, we know we have a lot of potential for growth in that area. Most of the growth in the area can come from simple acknowledgement and opening up to possibilities.

With resistance comes often denial: we start to decline opportunities. What if we would say yes instead, what’s the worst thing that can come from learning and trying something new? You are likely to learn something.

Resistance is a kind of invitation to explore and grow. Instead of locking up with resistance, be mindful and acknowledging: see it as an opportunity to grow now or in near future 🙂

Where Do You Start At?

To get somewhere, we must get started.

Where do you start, if you do not have the feeling to started? Would you begin by doing and finding the feeling, or would you try to set the feeling first and then start doing?

If what you want to do is anything of importance, it deserves to be started and done as soon as possible. Since life is limited what you are doing should be important. If you focus only to what is important, you will have time for everything.

Now since you can start to focus on what is important, you should begin somewhere and think less of where to begin, just start!

Be Like a Storm!

You are a force, like a storm.

For you get everything done in time,

Do not focus on what others whine,

Instead let the successes chime,

And all the good find!

 

To change the world, we just need to change one dark corner of it. And often that tiny dark corner is ourselves. It’s enough to change ourselves for the better. We do not need to worry or think about anyone else but ourselves.

How simple is that?

It’s simple, yet not easy. Who said it would be easy. It’s simple and doable, not easy.

What is in your control, what do you get to decide? Start with your attitude, how do you choose to react to what happens in your life? How do you respond to challenges?

Stop wishing for easy life, start getting smarter, stronger faster. It’s all in your power.

Start smiling for what you have!

Start focusing on what is right in the world, instead of finding the faults.

Start celebrating the small successes in bigger ways!

You have all the time what you need to do what is important, just cut the unimportant out of your life.

Be like a storm, make yourself known, make a name for yourself!

Feeling the Suffering

Sometimes they say that the smartest people feel the suffering.

Well what is smart anyway? Smarts should be the ability to come up with working solutions.

In order to solve something we should have problem and we should feel the problem completely. This might refer to the ability of empathy to everything around us.

It’s in human nature to feel the suffering somehow, that’s what makes us creative and smart at the same time. We are human, because of our ability to suffer.

Focusing to the suffering does not solve anything, however the ability to feel the suffering is the ground to start looking for solutions.

Do What Makes You Better

Living things go upstream, while dead things flow with the stream.

What makes life fun is the learning and progress. Sometimes these take time and frustration takes over first. Learning happens often in breakthroughs and come with emotional cost.

I’ve felt this frustration lately and I haven’t been able to pinpoint it. I’ve reached saturation point in my interest to absorb new ideas and at the same time to refresh myself with the old ones. This is feeling and just my experience. Probably this is not even true: I probably could get interested about yet many things and I still learn a lot.

Yet at this point I’ve accepted the feeling that every now and then I do not have interest for such things. Instead of finding something new or getting excited about the old I’ve been meditating a lot lately and I’ve tried to pinpoint the thing that I need or should focus on at the moment. Yet I’ve not found the thing, however I’ve had some breakthrough thoughts.

Such as the title: Finding the stuff to do what makes my life better.

Yesterday I was pondering what would my life look like if I were the hero of my life.

What would you be if you could be the best you?

Identity is the greatest leverage and we should think therefore carefully who we are and what kind of things we want to further during our lives.
