System of remembering

I don’t know why it is, people tend to overestimate how much they can remember.

There are few exceptions with whose memory seems to function in a way that allows person to remember most of the stuff without effort, such as photographic memory. These are however not the abilities of everyday person.

So the question is, how do you remember?

Leading is reminding, so how do you remember and lead yourself?

Personally I am facing this challenge everyday of being bombarded all kinds of tasks and todos’. I don’t feel like I am having a perfect system, but it’s a system that’s a quite solid enough: most of the time it’s writing things down in clear todo manner. Second tool for leading is calendar, essentially time slotting the tasks to calendar then just following that plan. Yet another todo list is my inbox, which I try to clear at some point of the day.

At the end of the day there are hopefully only habits and “routine todos” remaining, like exercise, writing and reading.

Todo’s help it to keep together and remember.

You can use not-todo’s to focus better.

With these two tools you remember what to do, and what not to do. Keep the tools up to date and remember.
